Winchburgh Infrastructure, West Lothian
Thomson Gray is providing NEC4 project manager, NEC4 supervisor and quantity surveyor services for several enabling and infrastructure projects at the Winchburgh town redevelopment in West Lothian.
The phased works include a new marina connecting into the Union Canal, new build infrastructure works to form access roads to the northeast of the development, and a new section of core road and provision of utilities from Kirkliston.
Planning approval has recently been granted for a new interchange junction off the M9 opening up access for the 20-year masterplan to deliver a minimum of 3,800 homes and 40 acres of employment land.
The new junction will provide motorway access to a 352-hectare site, formed from four new slip roads centred on an existing underpass, linking to an upgraded core road through the town centre. Delivery of the new junction will begin early next year and completed by the end of 2022.
