New National Treatment Centre - Highland opens
Thomson Gray provided lead advisor services to NHS Highland for the new-build National Treatment Centre - Highland in Inverness.
The centre was officially opened on June 12 by the First Minister of Scotland, Humza Yousaf.
We were appointed at project initiation stage and successfully led a multi-disciplinary team which included business case support, NEC project manager, cost advisor, NEC supervisor and CDM advisor services. The centre is part of a Scotland wide network of 10 National Treatment Centres being delivered by NHS Scotland and is the second centre to open following the NTC-Fife Orthopaedics.
The National Treatment Centre - Highland offers ophthalmology and orthopaedic services to surrounding communities in a new and unique, purpose-built facility designed with full input from the clinical teams who will work there, as well as patients.
Situated at the heart of the Inverness campus, the new centre hosts NHS Highland’s entire eye care service, including surgical and outpatient facilities. The NTC delivers a range of elective orthopaedic care, offering uncomplicated hip and knee replacements, foot, ankle, and hand surgery.
Created to help reduce the waiting times for patients across the Highlands, the centre offers a bespoke uplifting environment designed with the full involvement of the clinical teams who work there as well as input from patients.
The new facility has five operating theatres, 24 beds,13 consultation rooms, clinics, and outpatient departments. A patient and staff café, children’s play area and serene garden courtyard provide opportunities for patients and their family to enjoy the Campus environment.
