Stuart Gray
Our managing director, Stuart founded the practice in 2004. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the business and has overseen the successful development and growth of Thomson Gray from its inception.
Stuart has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working as a chartered quantity surveyor, employer’s agent and construction health and safety practitioner (CDM advisor/principal designer).
Advising both public and private sector clients, he has been involved in a vast range of projects from small-scale alterations to city-centre refurbishments, demolition projects, new-build offices, schools, hospitals, university projects, hotels, retail units, residential developments and infrastructure works. These projects have ranged in value from £50,000 to £150m.
Stuart is professional chairman and an assessor for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) in the Quantity Surveying Professional Group.
He is also a RICS Accredited Expert Witness and provides advice and opinions on construction disputes, professional negligence and quantum to individual clients and to the legal profession. He is regularly engaged by many of the leading legal practices in Scotland.
