Ged Gowans
Ged is the director responsible for Thomson Gray's building surveying services and is a member of our strategic board. He has responsibility for driving business growth and the delivery of several service lines.
Ged has over 20 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor, a registered NEC project manager and supervisor and an accredited CDM practitioner. Ged also provides expert witness services in relation to construction quality-related disputes.
He graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with honours in building surveying and later became a chartered surveyor within private practice – before joining Thomson Gray in 2014.
Ged’s experience spans sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, leisure, industrial, civils and residential. He has been responsible for numerous key appointments and undertakes the role of framework manager / lead advisor, where he oversees the delivery of multiple projects and survey commissions.
Ged leads our construction quality management service delivery, providing NEC supervisor, technical advisor and quality monitor services to projects throughout Scotland.
His strengths are in understanding client requirements and the development and implementation of strategy for the delivery of refurbishment, life-cycle and planned maintenance works and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
